Furnace Modification Technology
Impurities Removal Technology
The casting technology and equipment can be utilized to produce both polycrystalline and monocrystalline wafers. Most polycrystalline wafer makers can therefore produce monocrystalline wafers. However, conversion efficiency could not be raised in the past due to impurities.
Golden Solar’s proprietary (1) Furnace Modification Technology, and (2) Wafer Impurities Removal Technology can significantly improve production yield and therefore help realize the commercialization of Cast-mono wafers.
Lower requirement on silicon materials
(Can use FBR and recycled silicon materials)
Lower power consumption
Simpler production process
Higher output per furnace
Higher capacity for larger size wafers
HJT performs better than PERC in several aspects. However, as a new technology, mass-production and commercialization are constrained by higher manufacturing costs. Leveraging its materials science expertise, Golden Solar uses Cast-mono wafers as raw material for producing HJT cells. This would, in turn, greatly reduce cell manufacturing costs and accelerate market transition in this new technology.
